UDS profile (manual)
This block allows users to create manual profiles with a custom profile image, name, title, department, email, phone number, address, description, and social media links (not working at this time). Manual blocks could be used for affiliates outside of ASU.
Note: Using the manual profile block for ASU faculty and staff is not recommended and could leave profiles out of sink from ASU search.

UDS profile (data)
The UDS profile data block allows users to create individual profiles using the faculty or staff’s ASURITE ID. This block can be used in conjunction with the manual profile block to create a custom list of internal and external people.
Note: Using the data profile block allows you to override the title with a custom title

UDS web directory (department list)
The UDS web directory block allows clients to pull a curated department list from ASU search.
The options for this list include: Custom titles, Pagination, Alpha filtering by (last name, first name, department weight), excluded profiles
Filtering by: Expertise area, employee type (academic professional with admin appt., academic professional, administrative, classified, faculty, faculty with admin appt., graduate assistant/associate, post doctoral scholars, student worker, university staff), and campus location.
Note: This is the preferred method for pulling staff to websites. It provides a flexible low maintenance option for maintaining people on your website. There are some limitations such as pulling external people into a list with ASU staff, but this can be solved by requesting an external affilate ID.
UDS web directory (faculty list)
The UDS web directory faculty list block allows clients to pull a curated department list of faculty from ASU search.
Note: This is the required block for displaying faculty. These requirements are mandated by the Office of the Provost and the University President. This requirement is out of our control and they have maintained there are no exceptions to this policy.
